The Logic Seed Collector is used to automate the job of collecting seeds from many species, simply by trailing the unit over the patch of required plants which are in seed. With the height set correctly, the seeds are simply brushed into the collection hopper. This means that large quantities of seed can be collected in a comparatively very short time. Also, given the right conditions and machine settings, little subsequent sorting of the collected seed needs to be done. The seed can then be emptied from the hopper for subsequent bagging.

Seed collector applications

The MSH120 is used where quantities of seed need to be collected from plants and is often extremely effective where the species occur in the wild. The machine is simply towed over the patch where the seeding plants occur with the height set correctly to contact the seed heads and the seeds are swept into the collection hopper. Depending upon requirements, the collected seeds can then be sorted to isolate individual species, or simply collected as a mix to give a sample of indigenous species. In cultivated conditions where the plants are grown in exclusive plots, the system is extremely efficient.

Product features

The 5.5hp on-board engine drives a rotary brush which has long, stiff bristles. The height of the brush is simply set via a threaded adjuster with a lock nut and takes just seconds. The height setting has two ranges: 0 - 14” and 17 - 21”. The unit is towed behind a suitable vehicle (ATV, 4x4, small tractor etc). The engine is controlled via a remote throttle and has a centrifugal clutch, meaning that the drive to the brush engages only when above a certain number of revs.
